The kettle hat is the typical helmet of the medieval infantryman. The helmets form protects from hits from above and does not interfere with breathing or hearing. Oftentimes referred to as "the helmet of the commoner", the kettle helmet is particularly eligiable to reenact footmen and common soldiers.
